Snaps of my new(ish) Argentine Sistema Colt model 1927.

Snaps of my new(ish) Argentine Sistema Colt model 1927.
It came with a ported barrel bushing, 15 bucks got a blued steel replacement from Numrich.
I also got a new sear spring and recoil spring.
I've owned a Colt/ Remington Rand mix since 1985 but never took it apart more than basics, slide frame barrel, firing pin.
So replacing a sear spring seemed to be a daunting task.
My brother was supposed to bring me a set of punches, but after. Waiting a week I decided to go for it with what I had.

The punch from an east German ak 47 cleaning kit.
A small hammer, a block of derlin, think shatter proof marble and a piece of 2x4. Tne 2x4 and derlin served as an improve work service
I had watched a couple videos on YouTube, but the one by Wilson Combat on spring replacement at about 7 minutes was the best.

I removed the grips since they appear to be the originals.
I went slow but it all went well. A lot easier than I thought it would.
Especially Considering my limited tool selection.

The grip safety is working fine along with the rest of the parts.
Tge new recoil spring definitely has some more snap to it. I went with a standard weight spring. The old one seemed fine, but I didn't know how much it had been used. And when I compared the two, the old one was at least a coil or two shorter.

Details on the pistol, serial number shows it was made in 1948
. Its numbers matching, frame slide and barrel.
Small parts and barrel are blued. Frame and slide have a park finish.
My brother actually got it cheaper than it would have cost twenty years ago. But he also brought two other pistols and a Stevens lever action single shot 22. As a package deal.

And despite my use of a magnifying glass and good light I can't find any import marks..
Tge net said the importer was very good at doing them small.. and I looked where others suggested.
I won't say it's not there, just that I couldn't see it.

My brother picked it up for 200. He also got a naa mini revolver in 22magnum, a smith & Wesson semi auto in 40 I didn't get the model number, and a Steven's m47 never action 2 it is a single shot but made to look lie a Winchester 94/22. Had I know that I'd have advised him to skip it and get the nylon Remington 22 . Al, in he spent 650.
Guy had set the prices, my brother was just quicker with the cash.
I knew the m1917 was 700 easy. The naa lists for 239 dealer, the smith 35 the 22 rifle 75-100.
I never find deals like this. And when I do , Ii can't get there food or I'm broke. The kicker? He's not even a gun guy. He just wanted to trade me for our dad's. 45

I remember well when Cruffler had them for 230 to 350, and that was out of my reach.

As I understand it one brother found them snuck into a Facebook marketplace add, just a hint , so he asked. There were a couple more pieces and they were going to go in halves on the whole lot. But one brother bailed.
Last year I missed out on a Polish FB Radom marked Mauser. Full military at 300. But the same brother that skipped out on the deal flacked on giving me a ride. It was gone at 6 am the day of the yard sale. Just like I predicted.
But it just shows with this .45 there is still beginners luck out there.
