My dad gave me his 1898 Springfield 30-40 Krag, which had screw holes on the side for a scope mount. I just purchased the recommended mounts and rings (weaver 49350), and everything fit together just perfect. I put on a new scope (Redfield Revolution 3-9x40) and it looks beautiful. However, I can't use the safety because it hits the scope when I try flipping it over. Has anyone else run into this problem? I might try to replace the safety with a Buehl low scope safety. Would anyone know if this is easy to do?
